2017 Solar Eclipse Viewing We're only weeks away from the the 2017 Solar Eclipse (Monday, August 21st)--dubbed the Great American Eclipse for its North American path. Although we aren't in the direct path of the "total" eclipse, we will experience 85%-90% coverage. The Moon covers a large portion of the Sun, so this will be a spectacular sight! In anticipation of this event, we are welcoming all who would like to view the eclipse to watch with us here at the Library. The "partial" eclipse will start at 12:06 pm and last until 3:04 pm. The peak of the eclipse will be around 1:38 pm. We have about 200 glasses so if you can't join us, you can come by and pick up a pair. Because of our limited supply, we can only allow one pair per person. **You should NEVER try to watch an eclipse without the proper eye protection. Sunglasses are not sufficient protection for watching an eclipse**
